More than a title

Judge me not on what you see before your eyes
For what you see can be a sea of endless ties
A tie to her, a tie to him
A tie to me to you, a tie to them
You see, only one truly knows who I am and that would be HE
So never underestimate this pretty face that is me
Controlled by a system that leaves my pockets thin
Anorexic is my money and with my money she always wins
Pretend, I’d rather just tell you how it is
Been manipulated by many lies so honesty is where I begin
Unlike my poems, my songs, my novel, I am one you can not read
You gotta dive deeper in this sea unveiling a passion grown from a seed
Of aspiration, desperation is a place I’d rather not have occupy
My body and my soul so take a hold of your seat belt enjoy my ride
I once hid my head like an ostrich deep beneath the sands
But then I became a woman that needed more than any woman or any man
Understand, do you understand the words that are coming from my mouth?
On the outside looking in you may not comprehend what I’m talking about
In due time you will find that I am more than this body
Giving you more than your last love so much more than anybody
Can you handle this? I must ask, before we go any further
What you want to know just ask, won’t play games like a clue to be discovered
But don’t be weary bout what it is that I have to say
For my truth could hurt more than a lie could any day
More than a daughter, a sister, a girlfriend, or a mother
I am more than a poem, a song, a title, or any other
