I open up the field of my mind so that you can freely run through it
Giving you the best of me, my heart you got the key to it
We’re like the sky, where the sun shines high
High above, for all to see
But suddenly, the clouds make the rays hidden
No longer can one see, clearly
As darkness spreads like a blanket across the open sky
You tell me, you love me, and I begin to cry
Wipe your eyes, you say loud
I wonder why
Telling me not to worry
For the rain is only temporary
And we are not in a hurry
To end a relationship that’s been scatter like showers
Shaken by your thunder, causing me to be out like the power
At times we are as clear as the sunny skies
But when you bite off more than you can chew
Wanna have your cake and eat it too
I become like the tree, struck by lightening preparing to die
This mind of mine that was once open like a field to you
Is drenched with the key to my heart
Lost in the puddle of your shuffle
Some pain can’t be healed like a sore
For when you rain, it pours
Leaving me yours, no more
When it rains
